The place where it all happened.....

About Me

Surgery?.....I was barely sick a day in my life! Blood clots in my lungs! 75% of my lungs covered in blood clots? How did this happen? Birth control?..... It was August 2009 when I underwent PTE surgery. I had been to four specialist and finally, after two years, my cardiologist informed me of my diagnosis. He immediately called my pulmonologist and they arranged for me to go to UCSD Thornton Hospital in San Diego, CA. The doctor, Dr. Jaimeson, created the special tools to successfully complete this surgery. I would stay at a place called “The Bannister House” which was for people who needed an extended place to stay. I was in California within 4 weeks. The Bannister House took wonderful care of my husband while I was in the hospital. The nurses and doctors were incredible. The surgery was approximately 11 hours and I stayed in the hospital for a total of 3 weeks. If you are experiencing black-outs, shortness of breath, dizziness, severe chest pain, get help as soon as possible. You could be a few breaths away from your last. Now, thank God, I have my life back. You’re not the only one going through this, and you are not alone. Let me help you through it….

It has already been a year....

August 4 was the one year anniversary of my PTE surgery! I feel wonderful! It all seems like a dream. My scar is still a bit dark on top, but has almost disappeared on the bottom. Occasionally, I have a bit of sensitivity when I bend over, but other than that I am great. How has recovery been for you?

  1. Wow, it is so fun to find your blog! I had PTE at Thornton almost 6 months ago and am doing great! I agree with everything you said, especially about the PTE team and how amazing and loving they are. Isn't Bonnie just the best! Of course you didn't say much about how crazy awful recovery was, but I guess nobody needs to know that ahead of time anyway! I also loved your scriptures! I never could have made it through the last year of my life, and especially PTE without Jesus. One of my favorites was Philippians 1:19. Well, even though it doesn't look like you post often I hope you get this note. Thanks so much for such a great helpful site. I pray it helps inform and encourage people!

    With some PTE love,
    Rebecca

  3. “I was walking and my husband was telling me to slow down because he couldn’t keep up with me.”
Denise F. lived with COPD and chronic asthma for many years. When her quality of life continued to decline, Denise decided to try something different. While being with her horses brought her peace and joy, not being able to breathe made spending time with them challenging. When her grandchildren would visit, she couldn’t even participate in their activities.
After the herbal recommendation at the multivitamincare .org, Denise my best friend no longer needs oxygen or a walker and has seen many improvements. She can walk, clean her house, go shopping, enjoy a vacation, ride her horses, lift hay bales and do anything she wants to do.
Now, when her grandchildren visit, they can ride horses together and make wonderful memories. And, Denise wants to lead the way, “I was walking and my husband was telling me to slow down because he couldn’t keep up with me.”
If you or someone you love has COPD, emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis or another chronic lung disease and would like to see results like Denise’s, contact them at +1 (956) 758-7882 or their website to learn more about your lung disease treatment options.
